I provide remote assistance specialising in independently run businesses, hospitality, event management or personal assistance primarily in my local area of Rutland and Lincolnshire, or beyond! The beauty of working remotely opens the opportunity to work anywhere, however my most important consideration is to form a good working relationship built on trust with my clients. Working with local businesses is an advantage because it allows us to discuss your organisational needs over a cup of coffee so that I can get to know your business on a more personal level. For businesses further afield we can connect by video call.
Meaningful growth often requires letting go of outdated ways of working. I can support the foundations of your business or projects that tend to pull you in every direction. Dependable support while your time is protected.

COULD MY BUSINESS BENEFIT FROM HIRING A REMOTE ASSISTANT?
ARE YOU SPENDING MORE TIME MANAGING ADMIN TASKS THAN GROWING YOUR BUSINESS?
YOUR BUSINESS WILL ONLY GROW IN LINE WITH YOUR CAPACITY. IS HIRING AN ASSISTANT AN EXPENSE? THINK VALUE - IT'S AN INVESTMENT.
Welcome! I am Abi.
I am from a small village in the heart of Rutland now living in Lincolnshire with my little family. I have a love for the outdoors, horticulture, growing my own fruit and vegetables at my allotment, or picking up my paintbrushes. My background in hospitality, weddings and events over the years has spoilt me with beautiful food and wine so cooking has also become a huge passion of mine. The work ethics that are truly important to me are being conscientious, and showing careful and considered attention to detail in every aspect of my work. I am adaptable and ambitious but most of all, loyal.

With over 20 years of experience in hospitality, event management and wedding planning I think I am confident to say that meticulous attention to detail is my forte. I am an obsessive checker and no stone goes unturned. The turning point for me was trying to fit going to the office around my little girl whilst supporting my husband's career, leaving us with no time to spare and for any parents reading this - it's a logistical nightmare. I needed to find a way to apply my skills in what I do best more portably and The Pocket Assistant gives me just that.
My career in hospitality began in the kitchen as an assistant helping the Chefs with starters, sides, desserts and pot washing and I got the bug straight away. I loved the fast pace, the comradery between us and oddly - the stress! I can't explain it but when service was over it gave me such a buzz. I went on to work in both kitchen and front of house, then the bar, running functions and becoming a Supervisor. I have made some of my closest friends in service and this is what has inspired me to create a way that I can still work within the hospitality sector whilst being there for my family. From pubs to hotels, I have worked in almost all departments, Reception, Reservations, Housekeeping, FOH, Bar and the Kitchen so I have an overall respect for how each team operates and relies on one another for the overall success and standards of an establishment. Every role is truly important.

I can support you by managing the tasks you need to delegate, freeing your time for things more pressing or simply to give you a better work life balance. Having goals and ambitions whilst ensuring you have time for what is truly important is real living and maintains that passion for what you do. So in finding this for myself, I am offering this for you too.
